If you need us here at Red Helmet to help you manage your Facebook Page, or you need to make one of your friends or work colleagues an Admin, here's your step-by-step cheat sheet to help you get the job done:
Only other Admins of a page can promote someone, so if you're the Admin, you've nothing to worry about, and if not, you need to go and ask the Page Admin nicely in person to promote you. If they don't know how, perhaps prints this sheet out and give it to them!

Firstly, you need to log-into Facebook, and go to your Facebook Page, and click the 'Edit Page' tab. It's right on the top of the page next to all of your Page's messages, traffic statistics and stuff.
Then click 'Admin Roles' on the drop-down menu, like the picture to your left. We're not trying to patronise you here, we just know that some people learn quicker off pictures than they do text, and here at Red Helmet, we like to try and keep every one happy, or at the very least, full of tea and cake.
You will then be presented with a list of the Admins that manage that page. It looks something like this below with a blank space at the bottom of the list of Admins.

The blank space is for you to enter the name of whoever it is you want to make an Admin. Type in their name, and their Facebook Profile picture should appear. Click that, and then press 'Save' underneath, and you're all done!
It's also worth mentioning here that since Facebook changed and included Timelines, Cover Photos and lots of other wizardry, permissions have changed too as now you cannot simply be an Admin. There are now five different roles that you can assign designated Facebook Page fan as.
- Managers- Are at the top of the food chain. They have total control of the Facebook Page, and they can manage other Admins, add applications, edit the page, 'Like' other Pages, create posts as the Page (as opposed to creating posts under their own personal profile), delete and respond to comments, send messages as the Page, view Insights and create Ads. In a nutshell, the Managers are the only people who can use the Page like a personal account, viewing it's newsfeed, commenting on other Pages and so on. By default, any fans that are promoted to an Admin role are added as Managers, so double-check the details before you click 'Save'!
- Content Creators- Are the next level below. They can edit the page, add applications, respond to and delete comments, view Insights, create Ads, create posts and send messages as the Page. Content Creators cannot Like other Pages as the Page, view the Page's newsfeed or manage Admins.
- Moderators- Can only create Ads, view Insights, delete comments, respond to comments and send messages as the Page. They too cannot view the Page's newsfeed or manage Admins.
- Insights Analysts- Can only view the Page's Insights to monitor the traffic for the Page. Nothing more, nothing less.
- Advertisers- Can view Insights and create Ads.
So that's pretty much all you need to know! If the world of Facebook Pages is still a bit gibberish, don't worry, you're not the only one! Drop us an email if you get stuck, and we'll help you as much as we can.
